ARCA
Air source Reversable CO₂ Air Conditioner
It is a project that aims to energy saving, to limit environmental impact, to contain costs and to guarantee high reliability by achieving the following goals:
- To identify a beneficial energy solution for heating / cooling: heat pump system is an optimal solution, since it guarantees a substantial reduction in electricity consumption.
- To comply with the current regulation on greenhouse gases (Regulation EU no. 517/2014) and future restrictions: this regulation requires to move away from ozone depleting substance (ODS) and high-GWP refrigerants, orienting new projects to low-GWP technologies and solutions that pose a lower overall risk to human health and/or the environment. Natural refrigerants (HC and CO₂) fully capture these requirements.
- To identify an economically and technically sustainable solution: the technical complexity related to the reversibility of the operation in units with cycle inversion on the refrigeration circuit, involves high costs, as well as limits of reliability and availability of components.
- To overcome regulatory and safety constraints: in the railway field, there are constraints on the use of flammable or partially flammable refrigerants (HFO and HC).
ARCA achieves these results thanks to innovative technical solutions (patent pending)
ARCA PLUS
ARCA – Reverse Cycle
Innovative system for inversion of the thermodynamic cycle.
ARCA – Combined Cycle
The thermodynamic circuit with "combined" cycle allows to achieve efficiencies comparable to those of traditional systems (no replacement of the static converter is required).
ARCA – Defrost
Innovative system to optimize the defrost cycle.
NATURAL REFRIGERANT R744
Complies with the current regulation (EU 517/14) on greenhouse gases.
Tt complies with Trenitalia specifications and applicable regulations on firefighting (UNI EN 45545).
Definitive solution for any future phase-outs policies.
Reduction of maintenance costs (life cycle cost).
Natural refrigerant widely available and not subject to market speculation.
REVERSIBLE HEAT PUMP
It reduces CO₂ emissions into the atmosphere (direct and indirect) in compliance with the environmental policy of land transport companies.
Thanks to patented technical solutions, it allows to obtain efficiencies comparable to those of traditional systems (cooling).
It allows to reduce energy consumption by more than 50% during the winter season.
